When the Truth Gets Loud

The room gets quiet
when the truth gets loud
A heavy velvet curtain
draped across the crowd
They say "keep it civil,"
keep the "tone" in check
While they keep a polished boot pressed
against a neck
It’s a strategic silence, a curated calm
They offer us the poison then they sell the balm
"Don't make it awkward,
don't break the glass"
While the ghosts of the unheard
are forced to watch them pass.
They weaponize the "polite" to protect the cruel
Using "discomfort" as a golden rule
But if the truth makes you shiver, if the truth makes you ache
That’s just the sound of a system starting to break.
Whatever they bury, we’re taking control.
Yeah, the harder it is to breathe,
The louder we’re gonna scream.
